  • 1 cup//120g all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup//25g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt: 3 grams
  • 3/4 cup//150g granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup//120g unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup//120g hung yogurt (plain or Greek)
  • 1/8 cup//30g milk (any type, dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup//100g chocolate chips or chopped chocolate (optional)


  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk until well combined and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined and the sugar starts to dissolve.
  4. Add the yogurt, milk, and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. If using, fold in the chocolate chips or chopped chocolate into the brownie batter.
  7. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly with a spatula.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Be careful not to overbake to maintain the fudgy texture.
  9. Once baked, remove the brownies from the oven and allow them to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
