This chocolate muffin recipe is an easy and delicious way to enjoy a rich, chocolatey treat.   • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk (any kind works)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)


  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease it with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, beat together the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined; it’s okay if the batter is a bit lumpy. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Fill the Muffin Tin: Spoon the batter into the muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 full. Sprinkle a few extra chocolate chips on top for good measure.
  6. Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
  7. Cool: Let the muffins cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
